@graf had that happen to the WiFi portion of a card, from what I was told it can happen to factory faulty hardware when the section gets too hot

@FluidLIth I thought it was a worse fault. I reinstalled my OS last night and the bluetooth is still out. trying to force it to install results in a fail to detect USB

@graf it's an over heating flaw, I've replaced dozens of PCI mini/PCIE x1 etc that are in cramped spaces. The SOC is in a un-heatsinked tin enclosure with no heat spreader pad either. My last laptop had a faulty card, it let out magic smoke, cooling them is a real issue in these ultra-thin lappies. I'm in the process of retrofitting a late model lenovo motherboard into an old T31 chassis, the small form factor LCD screen is gonna be an interesting hurdle, but eh.

not the usb header, just swapped it for the new card leaving everything else in place and it works finei wonder if i can just swap the actual mPCIe card in the riser and have it work and just return it lmoa

so i swapped it to the old riser card and it is in fact the riser and not the actual mPCIe wifi card so I will be putting the old card into my thinkpad t495 since it only has AC wifi and this is AX :ai:

@graf No, it is a driver issue. Is it an AMD build, with a TPlink card? Because I had an the same issue after a windows update. Can't remember what I did, but there are solutions. For some reason, the drivers get messed up when windows updates.

@SwingingCod no, its the riser card. the new mPCIe wifi card doesnt work in the riser at all, wifi is borked. because bluetooth is over wifi with these cards its very likely a blown fuse or something on the riser

@graf I just had a similar troubleshooting problemDesktop wouldn't boot after some painters popped a fuse in my house. But actually it exposed a unexpected issue. Basically a particular dp cable was causing my PC to not boot when powered on. Some forum posts described a flaw in some dp cables can cause them to bleed power into the GPU and prevent booting.

@namvoo mine I didn't realize until my pc would boot and reset my keyboard RGB every time, noticed issues on the USB header and that bluetooth was missing so it was easy to figure out the culprit just didnt know the riser was the issue until now
