Younger guys have guns too but the guys with arsenals tend to be older, and if the government simply doesn’t let those pass the sons and grandsons they might get away with delayed confiscation.

@Nou @Terry Constitutional Amendments are different than bills and have no default time limit for passage (unless there's a time limit built into the Amendment, which is customary in the modern era). Congress has also retroactively extend those time limits, like with the "Equal Rights Amendment", but doing so is legally dubious and hasn't been tested before the Supreme Court.
