@PhenomX6 Hi, I just wanted to reach out about this.The instances on this relay are a community that tends to be more moderated, but there are other furry instances out there with more lax moderation rules, and it would be good to have another relay going for that. Pleroma's software is pretty lightweight.I've seen plenty of furries leave due to not fitting with the communities in this particular bubble, and I think it's mainly just people joining the wrong instances for them.

@PhenomX6 A separate relay, and maybe a big instance you could share around, could go a long way to help that.The fediverse is a big place, and there's no reason why people should have to feel they're being pushed out by strict rules with nowhere else to go, right?

@earfolds @PhenomX6 It's easier for one to go from less-moderated to more-moderated, but the opposite has the problem of discovery. If one were to start in a more-moderated instance and feel ostracized by its policies, it wouldn't be unreasonable for one to assume there is nowhere else to go as everywhere that's less strict was hidden from view. This leads to individuals just giving up before they can find a suitable instance if they even understand that there are more instances anyway.

Like a suggestion of "if you don't fit in here these are some alternatives that may suit you better" If this was implemented by instances it could help people find the one that fits them best.

@earfolds @PhenomX6 @Coyote It definitely feels as if a lot of schisming within the furry community has to do with groups trying to ensure their rules are the only ones. I imagine folks finding their own little corners would probably alleviate much of that.

@opal @earfolds The problem with relay discovery is nobody cares enough to keep it going.Case in point, when p ran a "only fediblocked instances" relay he took down, and then later on said "people will follow instances/people organically they like and populate the timeline".

People can only seem to keep together out of necessity ("I hate John, but he's the only butcher in town.") or ignorance ("I don't really know John, we just play cards together sometimes.").

I do moderate to some extent, but not to the demands of most on the current relay, plus the additional moderation needed just to deal with content that we don’t accept. That’s why I backed out the next day.
