There has been a lot of research about autistics over the years, but this one really took the cake! 🍰Find out what happened when researchers attempted to compare the moral compass of autistic and non-autistic people... (1/2)#actuallyautistic #autism #neurodivergence #comic #art #MastoArt

The research was fundamentally flawed and should not be used as evidence that one group is better than the other. It does, however, highlight the problem of biased research that stigmatises everything about us.

@newtsoda@wandering.shop it’s just mind-boggling to me how normalized psychopathic behavior is in parts of our society, to the point of being required for survival because the system selects for these traits and rewards them with successalways felt that it’s all the “normal” people who have something wrong with them when it comes to empathy and emotional processing

@newtsodaI am perfectly OK with being "too concerned about my moral compass" because at least I don't have to have a bad memory to have a good conscience

@newtsoda Do you have a link to this study ? I'm curious to know if this is a psychology study or a philosophy experiment (or something else).

@burgervege @newtsoda Indeed, the fact that the original study is not mentioned is a serious problem (I'm rigid about scientific discussion rules). It is probably Right Temporoparietal Junction Underlies Avoidance of Moral Transgression in Autism Spectrum DisorderYang Hu, Alessandra M.
