@bestforbritain I agree, we need to treat health professionals at ALL levels properly, with respect and pay them accordingly.

Health Secretary Steve Barclay says nurses voting to strike UK-wide - for the first time in history - is "disappointing".You know what's really disappointing?Clapping for frontline heroes then not paying them properly.Refusing to give NHS staff a pay rise in line with inflation for 12 years.Nurses relying on food banks.#UKpolitics #strike #NHS

@zleap @bestforbritain that's what I was saying when everyone started clapping every Thursday like a seal on speed. I didn't participate I demanded higher pay for the NHS staff. Gosh, here in Cornwall where I live they turned it into a party by playing loud music outside and drinking lots of alcohol and dancing. It was surreal and I found it very disrespectful. And this government who clapped is denying now proper wages for nurses. It makes me so angry. 😕

@TheQueensMindset @bestforbritain I am really worried for what is coming in the budget. Snr politicians really do not get the dire situation people are in.

@zleap @bestforbritain There is lingering so much uncertainty here in the UK about how people can pay their bills, eat and also keep a roof above their heads. Mental Health problems have gone through the roof. Some uncertainty is okay but uncertainty to even cover basic needs will lead to riots, an increase in criminal activity, substance misuse and suicide. It's a collapse of society. It costs a country more to get people out of poverty than to invest money to prevent it.

@TheQueensMindset @bestforbritain Indeed, the governments response on PMQs was to say they are helping people in to work. The question didn't even mention the constituent being out of work, even those in work are struggling., which I think was the point being made.

@mark_jones @TheQueensMindset @bestforbritain I think nurses can earn between 20k and 30k a year. however this is long hours, understaffed and cost of living going upI get the impression even those on the upper end of that scale are struggling.I think this is more than about pay, pay is so bad people are leaving, and others not joining the profession, this puts patients at risk so make pay better, working conditions better you attract and retain staff, so people can do their job without burn out, that burn out leads to errors, which puts lives at risk.

@zleap @TheQueensMindset @bestforbritain Totally agree plus increased sickness and staff turnover. I'm a cynic and I think that this is exactly what the government wants. I hope I'm proved wrong
