@vantablue Probably not. Most, if not all, instances (Servers) are hosted by individuals like you or me. They fund those servers out of their own pockets, and the odd few quid people throw their way. This is not Twitter; there is no cooperate structure. Your best protection is either the Mute of Block button.

@vantablue Some might. Probably the bigger instances, such as mastodon.social, but there are instances that have a set of rules published, and yet their cabal of a userbase is pretty hostile.Having said that, this is the rich tapestry of the Fediverse, which you will grow to love and cherish.Enjoy

@vantablue One more piece of wisdom from the font of nothing.There's two very good tools that work really well. Block or Mute. You can use either of those to block/mute an individual or a whole instance (Server) [Read Cabal as mentioned earlier] Personally (Coz I do have an evil streak), I prefer "Mute" this is because your victim won't know for a while that you can no longer see their vitriol and will continue to bark at the wind while you enjoy a nice cup of tea. 🙂 Here endeth the lesson

@dick_turpin @vantablue Hiya! Yeah, I currently manage mastodon.org.uk. I do look a lot at #mastoadmin for inspiration and tips. However, I'm also part of the official mastodon discord. A lot of instance admins hang around including the devs!
