       @rimugu Great comic.Environmentalism is my top issue, but unlike almost everyone else, I thought about it before leaping in with "muh government solution to all problems."Half Earth is part of the solution. Cutting entitlements, ending diversity and globalism, and instead of government developing a culture of frugality, reuse, and renewal is the rest.

       @rimugu I mention this to you because you have shown subtlety of mind. Any top-level concern will probably lead to all others; concern itself for the future based on what happens in reality is the common denominator. Conservatives and related groups are realists.For example, I would like to avoid bad government, but this also requires avoiding ecosystem collapse because nothing empowers Tyrants and Crowds like a real crisis.

My somewhat cynical take on the same:The job of the politician is to present notions that energize people.A smart politician avoids fixing real problems and goes after symbolic ones.If a real problem comes up, he suppresses its mention until it makes a mess, then swoops in to save the day.And yes, of course take advantage of the fallout, just like #COVID19.
