@Sheepydreamings @valere It's glacial. The ice melted 11k years ago. Finland is quite the bit north from what we typically think of as "western latitudes". Even us Finns tend to place ourselves on a map near the border that divides America into Canada and USA, and not over Alaska, which is closer to reality. Mercator just makes it hard to keep track of latitude.

@valere Fun fact, due to the glacier ice, Finland is super flat. Our highest point is a fell called Halti, but even it's highest tip is in Norway side. Funnily, Norway did a ceremonial gifting of the highest point to Finland during Finland's 100 year independence in 2017. Also Finland is called "land of the thousand lakes" due to the glacier leaving them behind as it retracted towards northwest. We got tons of those "siirtolohkare" or "moved boulders" all around and others like "hiidenpata".
