So if you'll be posting about US politics today it is customary to put a Content Warning (CW) on your posts. One tag we've been using for years now is "USPOL."Also, some subjects are very triggering for people (like USPOL) and others like food and alcohol posts. So please use CW's for those as well. If you do this it will make everyone's user experience so much better.If you don't, many of the people who you might want to read your posts, won't, or they might even block you.Be considerate.

@Ricardus I'm starting to see how Content Warnings can function for more than just basic triggers.It's nice to know if I'm posting a lot about a topic, I can slap a label on it & people who follow me can choose if they want to engage or not. Started putting a lot of my stuff about the Great Twitter Migration behind a cw, and I feel less like I'm shouting over and over at people about stuff.Also seen people using it to I guess label a post with a topic for boosting. It's a cool functionality.

@Ricardus I'm glad I saw your caution note. Are there other tags I should be aware of? Is there a list somewhere? I found this article https://karl-voit.at/2022/06/05/mastodon-cw-misuse/ but am confused because I'm not sure who "normal people" are any longer given the state of today's world.
