The #UX for instance migration as well as "Follower import" are both quite frustrating. 1. Both take a long time.2. My account is dead/empty until the process completes. (which is why I imported my following list manually)3. There is no progress indicator of any kind so it's unclear if it's slow or broken.So here I am 12 hours later w/o more to go just in limbo and no idea if things will get better or if I'm screwed. I'm going to wait 12 more hours as it's really the ONLY option I have.

@xerz @scottjenson Yes, it seems you have only 39 followers still on the .social account? Over 800+ here. Everything looks fine?It usually takes maybe minutes but under this heavy load, it apparently takes longer.

@scottjenson It WILL get better. You moved your followings yourself, so that's fine. Your followers will arrive in bits and drabs, although you'll likely lose 5-10% of them due to ... reasons.

@scottjenson Don't know. Nobody knows. Could be that they're dead, or at least so inactive that they're not considered very important.

@scottjenson @ppk The moving of followers is a Mastodon-only feature, as far as I know. So if you were followed by people on other fediverse servers, it won't move them.

@ondra @xerz Two issues:1) I had to manually move my following list (which is silly)2) It's STILL not all imported (no idea what's wrong)3) My profile info was also lost (I had to manually move it across which was extra hard as I couldn't GET to my old profile page after the move. Fortunately I had done an archive download before hand! I was able to dig everything out of there.SUCH a horrible process

@ondra @scottjenson I most definitely DID get most of my followers that were not on mastodon.social, so I don't think we need to worry about that.

@scottjenson I guess the process should better communicate what will and won't actually be moved, limitations (other servers), some progress indication and announce it as an automatic post to your old timeline for the users on servers that don't support the automatic move.@xerz

@ondra @scottjenson I don't know about those, and I don't think I have any followers on them. So I'm going to assume this is not a problem for me.
