FYI I just upgraded twit.social to masto.host's highest tier plus elastic search. We saw unprecedented growth over the weekend, as has all the Fediverse. Welcome to you all!I think this is a lesson the entire tech industry should learn from: serve your customers or they will find a better place.

@leo thank you for this instance. With the surge of new users, are we costing TWIT a bundle of $$$ or is this an acceptable expenditure?I came here because I’ve been a TWIT fan from the very beginning. But I don’t want to be a burden. So since all of this is pretty new (to me), I am asking myself these questions.

@leo It seems like a bunch of instances had to do this this weekend. What was also heartening to see was users telling the newbs to be patient with the slowness. The community is so much more of a COMMUNITY.
