@notwhatwethink I mean, hasn't, like, every federal election, in the US, in the last few decades been stolen? Both sides are committing voter fraud, it's just that whoever wins is the only one that gets any attention over it.

@fcktheworld587 @notwhatwethink can't tell if you're being serious or not but voter fraud is extremely rare, and successful voter fraud even more so. The idea that there's massive amounts of voter fraud going on is a republican talking point that is repeated for one reason only: to degrade trust in American democracy.Sources: https://www.pbs.org/weta/washingtonweek/blog-post/numbers-voter-fraudhttps://evidencebasedliving.human.cornell.edu/2020/10/21/what-research-tells-us-about-voter-fraud/https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/11/01/truth-about-election-fraud-its-rare/

@fcktheworld587 Not so sure I agree about both sides committing voter fraud. Republicans feel like they have to suppress the vote in order to win, not so much dems. Racists, fundamentalists, greedy wealthy people on their own, would never win elections. So they band together to win, but really only for the benefit of the wealthy!

@OkraMonk @fcktheworld587 I agree...and to make it possible for them to win elections with a minority cobbled together from groups that would otherwise have no power and really shouldn't--racists, fundamentalists, etc....

@notwhatwethink @OkraMonk it doesn't really seem like many Democratic party politicians are much better people than the Republican ones are. The voter base _definitely_ are - but, when it comes down to the policies that get passed, while the Dems have control, it might as well be the same party. They talk a lot, but it doesn't serve them to actually fix anything
