There are many highly problematic developments along the technological trajectory, but for me, self-programming computers is not one of them. While it might sound nefarious to some, for me it seems a logical outcome and a reasonable goal. In fact, one could argue computers should have been designed this way from the start: instead of separate discrete applications, computers could have generic code blocks which could be assembled to produce various outcomes -how would this actually work you ask?

@aaronpettman the generic combine-ability of systems is something i think Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) was interestingly trying to get into, to make a possibility.that's not as goal-oriented as you are talking but i think it suggests a broad manipulability modern systems/languages/runtimes generally mostly lack.recently talked a bit about AOP, versus what we tend to do now,https://cybre.space/@jauntywunderkind420/109304391471981434

@jauntywunderkind420 thanks for that, I'm not super technical but really appreciate hearing about this.
