Does anyone else think it's weird that when I go eat with my daughter at school they make us sit outside in the front of the school and don't let us in to sit in the cafeteria? I feel like that is strange and I struggle with how difficult they make it for parents to be involved at her school (this is an elementary).

@NBerny320 It's pretty weird. But it fits right into the general theme of public school, bringing everybody down to the lowest common factor. They wouldn't want the kids with shitty absent parents getting jealous, better to bring up the children in a sterile environment where the only source of power/providence is bureaucratic authority.

@sunbearshaman this was my thought as well bc she goes to a school in a "lower income" area which our neighborhood got zoned for a few years ago so they could spread out the "nicer" neighborhoods for equity 🙄.We've considered home school but she's only in 1st grade so I'm trying hard to give it a chance before I pull her out. Plus I'm about to have a newborn as well.

@NBerny320 might be sort of a privacy/security issue to have non-vetted semi-random adults around the other kids. Public school rarely has reasonable justifications for why they do anything though.
