       @hypolite @bnb Exciting new protocol comes to town, promising the moon and stars. Devs state they won't use existing technologies, will ultimately reinvent the wheel. Loudly proclaims the fediverse to be obsolete and dead. Eventually, the project dies, and the devs end up never touching decentralized social media ever again.

       @bnb @hypolite What's kind of funny is that ActivityPub has mostly surpassed it. There are still improvements to be made, but many of the original ideas, like post content types, did actually make it into the spec.

       @sean @hypolite @bnb the funniest part about Tent I find is that: literally ten years later I still follow all you guys and the friends I made from that era are still here. So yeah maybe it died, but it’s core idea and the people that are true believers in it are anything but dead.  ❤️

       Yeah, that blows my mind, honestly. I’ve occasionally popped on to @sikkdays ‘s podcasts with @pauldl and keep in touch with Chris now and then.
