@shadowferret@the9thcircle.club no, it's running on a regular desktop pc but it's in a vm. i honestly think a raspberry pi would be an improvement but i'm not sure and it'd be some money and work to find out

@LazyMoogle@mstdn.social your instance probably had a lot of growth over the past couple days and is struggling because of that though, mine is just slow because it's hosted on a potato :blob_grinning_sweat:it's always good to have accounts on multiple instances in case one has downtime. you should also try misskey if you've only tried mastodon so far, stux has an instance at https://misskey.ai

@emma@niscii.xyz @LazyMoogle@mstdn.social Here on Slippy.... Local users are around the same (not surprised), but remote users had a huuuuge influx after twitter acquisition was announced. The previous big spike I think was around the time when they started to negotiate and it was public musk wants to buy it. I know a few instance admins, and most of them had to scale up the server temporarily in the last 8-10 days, others closed registration and limited remote user check cron jobs, etc.No records before 2021 dec, because I think that dashboard was implemented around that time and misskey did not have stats about these kind of things. Or something else, i don't know, the instance was created 2/16/2020 without data loss or longer than a 1-2 hours maintenance, so that can't be the reason.
