Slayer puts on an amazing show tbh, seen 'em twice.Slipknot did better though. Agree on Manson sucking, albeit it was post dita von tease breakup when he went all emo and fat. I’ve seen Slayer twice as well. The first time was towards the end of a tour and Tom’s voice was beyond wrecked. The second time was the Big Four show at Coachella, and they were amazing…all the bands were, even Metallica. 🤣

Every now and then I go and look up a band I listened to as a teenager tp see if thier music still holds up. I listened to Manson and cringed so hard my spine almost broke. A positive experience was In Flames. Thier songs hit different when your in your 30's than when your a teenager.

There are vocalists who are good singers but still use the scream/grunt though. I dunno. I'm not much for the cookie monster stuff but I really like the demonic sounding black metal type of screaming. I find it atmospheric and performative like the musical equivalent of a horror film.
