       PSA for new users:When you alert your followers on birdsite that you are moving to mastodon you must include the *instance* you are on.Dont write “im (username) on mastodon!”Do write “im (username) on (instance)”There can be users on a different instance with your handle already. You wouldnt leave out gmail/hotmail/etc when you share your email address to someone right? Same goes for your mastodon account. Include the instance.

       Idk who advertises mastodon in a way that made ppl treat it as a centralized platform but yall sure failed. The instances are the whole point!! We gotta focus more on instances and their actual role on fediverse. Because im tired of seeing ppl on birdsite being so badly informed atm.
