Twitter is an outlier, and so is Musk. But because of the incredible haste of this process, the dismantling of Twitter is usefully clarifying about changes for the media as a whole.

       @twitnews I appreciate the perspective, but I’ve seen way too many technologies, tools, platforms come and go to think that Twitter is the best we’ll ever do. Will it go away? Maybe not. People still run Windows XP. But where Twitter may have been an an uncertain path, it’s been hampered by a lot of drama and damage very suddenly. I think it’s odds of success have diminished. And the path to getting out of this and being profitable to cover certain debt obligations … yeah, no.
