       @ddelony It is perhaps not coincidental that one of the classic Bell Labs projects that contributed heavily to the development of UNIX was reverse-engineering a phototypesetting machine.

       @publius And the large number of  text processing tools. They originally sold Unix to Bell Labs as a word processing system to get them to buy the research group a new machine.
