>start docker container>6 containers are made>go to stop container>the name I started it by doesn't work>you must use IDs>you must stop all 6 containers by their ID, one at a time>in what order? who knows! Fuck docker. Fuck kubernetes.

@r000t Sounds like a design fault that nobody will want (or allow) to be fix.

@r000t hilarious. Unfortunately the cheque signers dgaf because they were told by sales reps that when properly used, k8s will remove all downtime and scaling issues.

So.... People ship software, like command line utilities or apps, that you run over and over again, using docker --runAnd each time you do this, a container is made, and an environment is prepared.... For each invocation? And when you close the app, this temporary space is kept around essentially indefinitely? All of this because dependencies are hard?

Look at this. Look at this waste. A container and storage space were made every time I ran a program with --version or --help, or with an incomplete command in order to see the syntax.

@nucleus Is there a way I can see what dockerfile made a given container or set of them?

@r000t It has always had a decidedly duck-taped vibe to it.

@r000t You don't need to create a new container to run it again, that's why they aren't automatically deleted when they exit.
