@fitheach The neighbor across the street told us the fireworks were scaring her dog on July 5, even though we were as far as possible from them while still in our yard. We haven't used them since.Some neighbors blocks away shoot off fireworks that you can only get from another state because they're illegal here

Thankfully, everyone took heed of my warning. I didn't have to insert any fireworks where the sun don't shine. There were a few fireworks in the air as #Gruoch and I went to the car, but, we departed fast.As usual, Gruoch stole the show at the party. She got loads of compliments, which every dog owner loves to hear.Just back home, it's late, must get to bed now.[Spots bottle of Laphroaig on kitchen table]Ach, one wee dram won't hurt.

@wrdwoose It does have a live fire. There is a wood-burning Rayburn stove. Mick and Cathy spent 4 years making it. All the units, kitchen seating, table and wood panelling were handmade by them.
