       At the risk of pissing off the mob, there's a lesson here.A lot of people are asking why those being laid off at Twitter are finding out in a "cold", "abrupt", and "disrespectful" way; Being suddenly locked out of all company accounts with zero warning.This isn't done as a fuck-you.        @r000t you're absolutely right. cut access before someone knows what happened. it's not like there's a "nice" way to lose your job in a layoff, and once you're done, that workplace isn't your problem anymore. I still remember walking to the train station right after the Y2K layoffs with a copier box of my office stuff, collected under the watchful eye of a bruiser security guard. The bartender in the station bought me a beer, and the day got a little better.

       @r000t there’s still a better way to handle all of it. Yes you do need to protect the org from any potential insider threats (even when the org itself is creating the conditions that increase that risk). It was all clumsy af but tbh that fits musks profile

       @r000t and, they're getting paid for the next three months, while not having to do any work. The last time I was laid off, I spent those three months training my replacements.The difference in treatment is enough to make me wonder if being less trustworthy might make for a better career plan.
