@RyunoKi @funkwhale The big barrier, of course, is hosting copyrighted music. Does that apply if it's not each song, but rather a 45minute mix contained in a single audio file? I'm not sure. But I would be treating it the same way as literally handing a mixtape to a friend.

@RyunoKi @killyourfm We definitely recommend working with freely licensed content as much as possible! Funkwhale does allow you to host your own collections in private libraries that you can share with your friends, but we’re most interested in the free stuff :funkwhale:As for if we know anyone who’s specifically into mixtapes, not off the top of our heads. But we’re happy to boost to see if anyone in the community is interested.

@killyourfm first off - great mixtape. Flowed really well and had interesting changes of pace and tone. Ginger Wildheart was a surprise for me - a lot more country in that new band than I thought but I loved it. LS Dunes is a weird one - like a supergroup but not sure about the singer. The Sewer Rats was quality and a new one for me as was Beach Riot. You reminded me that GUN were legit and I had totally forgotten about them lol. I'm still not sure about Wet Leg. Pinkshift I really liked.

@Faz Dude, I really love chatting music with you! GW & The Sinners was a surprise to me too. At first, I instinctively thought "this has country overtones so I must hate it." Fast-forward two weeks, and I loved the album so much I bought it on vinyl. It's just perfect "classic rock and roll" with some country flavor and exceptional harmonies. Jury's out on L.S. Dunes for me, too. The full album releases on the 11th though, and then we'll have a better picture of their sound.

@Faz Wet Leg... at first I was almost appalled by them. Then it became an earworm and I can't explain why. Maybe it's the overly casual vocals, the whole "Excuse Me? What" call-and-response stuff. But I'm loving them now. And Pinkshift's singer, I think she's going to be the next Haley Williams.
