I think this Holo figure is magnificent and I’d really love to order it but I’d have to explain to everyone who comes to visit that “no no this isn’t an erotic figure, it’s not lewd or intended to be looked at lustily, this is a work or art capturing the natural beauty of a harvest goddess, think of it like you would a renaissance painting of Venus” and even though I’m 100% serious, that’s truly how I feel about it, I don’t think most would get it.

@JSDorn @Intramuros_ Of course female nudity will always carry some eroticism, im not denying that, but unless you want to take the position that all depictions of nude women are pornography then I don’t think it’s fair to call this figure particularly titillating. No particular part of her body draws the eye above any other, leading the viewer’s eye first and foremost to her face which carries a neutral, serene expression. Her hair and tail cover her nipples and genitals in a natural way as to not particularly draw the eye (compare this to the other holo figure that was posted in this thread where her tail is unnaturally turned around to cover her genitals, this has the effect of drawing more attention to it, increasing the eroticism) and nothing else about her pose is inviting you to think about the act of sex, no overly arched back, no raising her legs or sticking out her chest or hips. It’s very clear to me that the sculptor is inviting the viewer to take in her feminine beauty in a wholistic way. Compare this holo to a couple other figures I own (pictured below) that are not nude but I would argue are far more intentionally erotic. With magical senpai the whiteness of the skin on her breasts in contrast to the black outfit draw the eye directly to her bosom, which the pose itself is emphasizing that the image was captured in the motion of them falling out of her outfit, about to be exposed to the world. The point of this figure is to be titillating. For this Zero Two, the most fully clothed of the three examples, the eye is drawn either to her jutting out rear end or due to the color contrast of her face and hair to her face, which has a “come hither” expression which directly invites you to come and hither the aforementioned rear end. The purpose is once again clear.None of this is a shitpost, I’m pretty into anime figures I pay a lot of attention to the market and to what the sculptors are going for and it’s unquestionable to me that the intention of the holo figure is to be an artistic appreciation of beauty and not a kinky boner inciter. ACTUAL erotic anime figures, ones with exposed nipples and genitals, are wild, crazy poses, bits flopping everywhere, milk and representations of less politely mentioned fluids included as part of the sculpt, it’s a whole different universe and it’s not even done by the same manufacturers.

I understand that may not strictly be true for all 2D, and that many people won't agree for personal/moral/legal reasons, but I personally feel that even vulgar drawn images carry a certain amount of value that elevates them beyond simple recorded pornography. Same with smut writings as well, they may be disgusting and offensive at times, but I personally believe they have the intrinsic right to exist as creative works whereas butthole pictures do not.Does that kinda make sense? It's a little hard to convey this, since it's sort of an outgrowth of my beliefs about information in general, but I hope I made my point fairly well.

You're right with regards to many, many things, mind you, but I feel too many people go too far the other way in response to rampant hypersexuality, and they try to remove all sexual thoughts from themselves, which is, IME, just as harmful as becoming a rampant coomer.

My issue is that it has been perverted and those perversions need to be stamped out.Obviously people can admire athletes, bodybuilders, models to an extent, but when it becomes just an attractive piece of flesh that's the problem.

Read ancient literature and you find some there too. You would have to go after women's romance novels as well, taking this thought to it's logical conclusion. IMO it isn't really a problem unless it becomes a problem in specific cases.

It feels like there’s an overreaction going on, where people seem to believe the human libido is intrinsically bad, when that’s not really true. It can be used for bad things, certainly, and complete, unrestrained indulgence is demonstrably poisonous to the mind and soul, but some of the people I see complaining about “lewdness” sound like they wouldn’t even fuck their own wives, which is just as ridiculous and unhealthy as modern coomers addicted to getting off every second they possibly can.I don’t know, I’m not a philosopher or a theologian or anything like that, I’m just a guy on the internet trying to navigate the modern world of crazy-ass extremes. :shrug:
