@a1ba I only keep lossless on backup storage these days. When I listen to music, it's an opus transcode.

@a1ba if the compression starts being noticible you can resample to a higher sample rate, the interpolation isn't perfect but it beats years old downloads.

@soarinskyhigh compression wasn't right word, flac is compressed too, and all I did just re-encoded flacs to mp3 (so it works in random car music players too).

@a1ba I think mp3 would be lossy compression which would benefit from resampling in the future. It sucks how ogg isn't the standard for lossy :bolbsunglassesnotcrying:

@soarinskyhigh I used vorbis before and it's much smaller for same quality (for my ears). Opus would be better choice nowadays.But random players may not support them.

@a1ba@expired.mentality.rip @soarinskyhigh@expired.mentality.rip I have an old music player that runs Rockbox. Opus's super duper compression brings its ARMv7 CPU to its knees. Vorbis had no problem.

@niconiconi @soarinskyhigh I don't know so much about the complexity of audio codecs but isn't Opus also should be MCU ready? Or it's only for voice modes?
