@abitgray@seal.cafe I don't like KiwiFarms and I also think this whole cat and mouse game they're playing is dumb asf.. but the real utility here in their crucifixion is to demonstrate how the system will come down on you. It demonstrates that they will do it, and it shows how they will do it. It underlines why and how centralization is bad, and exemplifies the need for plurality of self-hosted nodes along with the need for alternatives to traditional networking.

Jersh has said multiple times that he won't run a Tor-only site. If it can't be on freenet, he'll give up.

@s8n @kino @abitgray couldn’t this be avoided entirely by staying small?

@MMS21@seal.cafe Staying small and therefore staying extremely spread-out. They've spent months trying to take down KF, which is a singular, central website with thousands of users. Good luck taking down thousands of websites with tens of users.@s8n@posting.lolicon.rocks @abitgray@seal.cafe

@LeastConcern @abitgray i don't get why he won't do I2P Invisible Internet. His audience is exactly the type to know how to do that, and it would bring massive support to a much more secure kind of internet that can then spread to thousands of other people. He could single handedly move thousands of people over to an unbreakable internet where it can grow and spread. everyone can give out links to it and it wold never be taken down.

You can ask him yourself but I would understand if it were just a matter of principle. The content on KF isn't illegal, so there's no reason why he should have to hide it away on parts of the Internet most commonly used for illegal information.

@kino @abitgray Decentralizing nodes kinda just kicks the can down the road to be honest.RIGHT NOW, the censorship apparatus is not efficient enough to take down many nodes in a short amount of time, but that WILL change.> need for alternatives to traditional networking.YES, WiFi meshes are a great example of how this can be accomplished at the scale of a city for example. Tools such as IPFS can ensure that data is accessible across networks with limited backbone/interconnection between networks.
