       Hey OSM mappers, if you to take OpenStreetMap one step above Google Maps, and start helping a while bunch of truck drivers, start mapping weight, height, and width restrictions!Because right the only options that provide this kind of data and routing are proprietary and horribly expensive /o\

       @lanodan from my experience, width and length restrictions aren't that common, but you'll find tons (ha!) of weight restrictions used to keep trucks out of city centers or residential area, with complicated conditions

       @pipivovott Yeah, I love street complete, it only catches things like bridges height and weight restriction. In France, cities love to use weight restrictions to prevent trucks from entering the inner city or residential areas, and StreetComplete won't ask about those, also the tagging is often a conditional restriction (deliveries are permitted)

       @aearil didn't know about that, i guess that makes sense due to road damage? maybe that should be a feature request, that sounds like it could be a thing in other countries somewhere

       @pipivovott In my opinion I think it has more to do with avoiding the noise/congestion generated by a lot of semi trucks taking the shortest route to transit through a city.That said, I unfortunately don't think StreetComplete would be a good match for this, because any random street could be restricted. So until someone maps the signpost, there's nothing you can do, and once it's done, there might not be much to add :/

       @aearil huh, i guess it should be some local thing maintained by local truckers maybe then and on street complete there could be a note that links to it at a relevant place or something 🤷
