I thought this was a joke at first, but it's real, and it starts this week! Why I'm interested: 1) I used to work at #Blockbuster btw! (and before that an indie shop called Video Choice)2) It's from the writers of Superstore and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Writing matters. Those writers are sharp!3) Blockbuster had a chance to buy Netflix for something like $50m. They declined. Then Netflix ultimately buried Blockbuster, so the "spite value" of this one is high. Who's gonna watch it?

@killyourfm I'll be watching it off the strength of the writing on B99. However, I wasn't blown away by Superstore and the trailer for this new series didn't give me high hopes. Will give it a chance though.

@Faz I shouldn't be as enthusiastic as I'm being. This show is causing me to break my rule of never getting into something new until it's renewed for Season 2. Been burned so many times!

@killyourfm I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself. With these light comedy shows I kind of know if I’ll enjoy them after one episode. You can instantly see the tone and comedy style. So 25 minutes and I’ll know if I should invest more time on it. Too much amazing tv out there to feel bad about it. Imo at least.

@killyourfm ha yes absolutely. So many choices that I either give up and go back to listening to something I know I love or find something new I like but only listen to a bit of it as I get distracted by the other bands related to/influenced by them.

@pixelgeek Yeeea, it didn't really hit like I expected (or wanted) it to. It sort of felt like a generic workplace comedy shoehorned into a Blockbuster, just for nostalgia's sake. Where are the deep movie references? Where's the "Clerks" style attitude? I would expect every employee at this store to be a diehard movie fan, but I'm not getting that vibe. It's not TERRIBLE, just not what I was expecting.
