@realcaseyrollins @stux @endah he's selling an intangible asset which serves absolutely no purpose other than a perceived status enhancement for $20 f***ing dollars month!Yes, it's twitters fault for making the status flag such a prized asset in the first place, but charging so much money for it is fairly questionable you have to admit.

@paul @stux @endah I'm not sure how the check emoji is any more intangible than any other digital thing (a digital book or movie, for example).I suspect this isn't a genuine position of yours, you just don't like #ElonMusk, because this would be a hard position to consistently hold.

@realcaseyrollins @stux @endah well... let's be honest, a book and movie provides you with a story, an experience, an emotional journey. The blue tick mark is... an icon. I don't even use it to verify someone, I use my own logic and research to do that and always have - long before Elon took over.So, for me, the blue tick serves no purpose - Musk or not.That's all, you can have your opinions of course, but don't make lazy assumptions about me please.

@paul @stux @endah I'm not making lazy assumptions, just observations.It also is important to consider that this isn't just a blue check, but also allows tweets to have more reach on the platform, which is why I suspect that eventually most subscribers will end up being advertisers.You shouldn't let your personal disdain for blue checkmarks keep you from seeing other people's value of it, or the bigger picture.
