@deprecated_ii I think the tendency now is to have organized parties or events. It makes sense from the parents' perspective as going door to door is a gamble nowadays and you don't want your kid to be disappointed. For me going door to door was a big part of the experience. I think it also dovetails with overprotective parents.

@graf @deprecated_ii I did not have many for the last two years, so I just set out the bowl with candy for this year. Almost all of the candy was gone, but it might have just been because they took a lot of it each. Thank you friend.

@deprecated_ii Yup, it feels like it very suddenly died during a short timespan. Coincides with reaching a breakpoint in social decline I think. You need a society to have Halloween

@interalia @deprecated_ii Its funny how people were all freaked out about razorblades and drugs in the candy when we still sorta had a high trust society but now nobody gives a shit when it feels like something weird is more likely to happen

@graf @deprecated_ii Favorite trick or treaters I ever had was when I was living in Fairfax County VA. It was this middle-aged Asian couple, a man and a woman, they didn’t even have costumes. They didn’t even have a kid with them. They were very polite.

@deprecated_ii I had more than last year, maybe a dozen groups. Unfortunately I'm quarantining ahead of a trip, so I only put up a bucket with candy out. I refilled it a few times. This is a new neighbourhood and I suspect other blocks are getting used to it, so we're still on the upswing.

@deprecated_ii Trunk-or-treat has become the mainstay for terrified soccer moms and pussy-bitch stay-at-home dads, and I for one am offended at the sissification of a once-noble holiday. The normalization of such a distortion is robbing children of valuable experiences, and instead just giving them the instant gratification of getting all their spoils in one place, in a sterilized environment, far from any sense of adventure. This facade of a real event has definitely impacted turnout for the humble candy-giver, emasculated the drive to erect striking displays, and overall put a damper on the humble Halloween enjoyer.

@deprecated_ii I had one group of kids the entire night which is actually an improvement from the last year which was zero. I think it's because most of the kids in my neighborhood much older and crime is something people do consider in the parts I live in even if its not frequent.I'm just glad someone came to the door for a change.

@Herbst @deprecated_ii I think this is an important milestone of the cultural decline. I remember as a kid walking miles over our neighborhood for candy. Last year I was out of town and left a bowl outside. Had three groups of kids in total. Now zero. Halloween was a fun holiday when we had a more ethnically homogenous high-trust society. It's clearly over now. I feel really bad for the kids.Part of it is my fault too. I don't do any Halloween decorations outside my house. My cope is that normally it would be a woman who decides to do it or forces me to do it. But I'm a late 20's bachelor working as a wageslave. The fun atmosphere that existed when I was a kid is gone. Most everyone is an atomized individual with no sense of community. It's sad. Pour one out.

@andreas @deprecated_ii Of course, just like how Christmas is a solstice holiday, and Easter is a fertility holiday, etc. Just like those holidays we conquered and sanctified them. They're ours now. Stay mad, nerd. However I would say that All Hallows Eve is the holiday that retains the most pagan tendencies. I'm not advocating for the complete sterilization of the holiday, rather the opposite. Kids dress up as scary monsters and demons so that the real ones pass by and do no harm / get scared, what have you. Adults pay tribute in the form of candy. The harvest festival bit gets kind of split between Halloween and thanksgiving here in the US. Feasting, displaying prize harvested produce, that kind of thing. The complete removal of all religious over and under tones to these holidays is what has completely neutered them. Instead of dressing up to go scare demons, we just pack them into a car to drive to some random parking lot to get candy. Instead of praising God for the harvest, we just complete for who spends the most money on fall decorations, and time on making food, rather than being thankful for what we have. Christmas has become an outright Godless consumerist hellscape, with the only vestiges of religion being the trees, and the church service. Easter bears almost no resemblance anymore either. The fertility aspect being infantilized into cartoon rabbits and more fucking sugar, and the Christian aspect being reduced to greeting cards and the ever-shrinking selection of chocolate covered marshmallow crosses.God forgive us for our sins. I'd rather the holidays be pagan than the absolutely braindead consumerist shitpile that they are. Yes I'm upset.

@Herbst @deprecated_ii Same energy you give off.We have been doing these prized harvests before you dregs came about and polluted the place with your pyrrhic and pointless "conquest" (which jews directed and reap the benefits which christards like you get the short end of the stick). If you have a problem of degenerates and monsters hiding among the costumed kids and adults you have only yourself to blame for indulging in such activities within OUR holiday (not yours) which your own people denigrated and undermined at every opportunity. Like niggers do.

@andreas @deprecated_ii If you say so bud. I'm definitely not a fan of the people calling themselves jews. Never said anything about degenerates hiding amongst the costumes, the idea as far as I'm aware is to ward of literal manifested evil, demons, etc. which you may not may not believe in. Furthermore I did say that I'd rather a return to something closer to pagan roots than what we have now, outside the church.

@Herbst @deprecated_iiThey are genuine jews (that raped kids since their inception).I am taking a objective view of what these people wearing costumes represent and see only flesh and blood degenerates. No demons. No manifested evil.
