@Kirstie@cpconstable I did too, but I balked at the various ways the ActionStation website allows datafarming corporations to collect data on people signing their petitions. Using the NoScript add-on, I can see JavaScript being sent to run on signers' computers from domain names belonging to Goggle, FarceBook, CloudFlare, and Twilio etc. Kiwis deserve to be able to sign a petition on a kiwi website without it helping tech corporations collecting data on their political leanings.

@strypey @Kirstie Too right! I know zero about that sort of stuff, but it seems to happen all over the place. I'm happy to be here for that very reason. Is copy/paste of the link any safer in that regard?btw, thanks for signing 🙂

@cpconstable> Is copy/paste of the link any safer in that regard? No. The webserver that link points to sends all that JS spyware along with the rest of the web page at that link. In the absence of privacy regulation with teeth, or ActionStation voluntarily fixing the problem, all we can do is block it our end. I use NoScript, which is available as an add-on for web browsers based on Firefox or Chromium (Chrome/ Edge/ Opera etc).@Kirstie

@cpconstableThe uBlockOrigin add-on is also good for blocking JS trackers, if you want something a bit more 'set and forget'. But with NoScript in your browser, you can selectively allow any JS needed to make a website do what you need - temporarily or permanently - while still blocking the rest. Bonus, it also reduces the processing load websites impose on your device, and reduces your data usage on mobile or hotspot, or other metered net connections. @Kirstie

@cpconstableYMMV but I've been using a Firefox based browser on Android and both uBlock and NoScript work on that too.@Kirstie
