KF got hacked recently because of XenForo and Sneedchat not parsing a file correctly. It can also be a risk when you're calling outside executables on a server. I'm sure inkbunny has exploits, but furries tend to go after low-hanging fruit or use shit like DDoS attacks or angry emails to ISPs instead. Being that the news media isn't running articles about how Inkbunny is literally killing trans people, I'm sure many don't care.

As for hacking things, I really hope you have an understanding of the Linux command line, OS, and security model first. There's assloads of resources online but most of them involve forcing servers to run commands somehow.
