So I confirmed what I've believed all along, Linux doesn't run perfectly on every single piece of consumer hardware out there. Fanboys need to stop lying to people.

@nerdtronics I think there's very few pieces of hardware that Linux runs absolutely perfectly on. It is great to see that it's so versatile and gets a long way on so many configurations though!

@nerdtronics TBH if you believe randoms that's your own fault.

@NanoSector I agree, I just feel over-zealous fanboyism creates confusion and it spills over into other areas of the tech communities. People need to be honest, it would help our cause more.

@nerdtronics I don't think many people believe it works on all hardware (even Windows doesn't work properly on all consumer hardware).

@nerdtronics I know people who say that exist but I don't think it is a very big portion of the Linux community overall.

@sandrolinux The main reason it affects me is as a YouTube technology content creator that promotes BSD (mainly OpenBSD) I deal with a lot of "but LInux is better at this" *isms. When in reality Linux is only slightly better in certain areas. I have dealt with many people that have exaggerated viewpoints on the subject many times.

@nerdtronics Yeah, personally, I respect whatever OS people want to use because they all come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages and all use cases for operating systems are different.

@nerdtronics My view of it is I have used tons of Linux distros; FreeBSD; OpenBSD and GhostBSD. Once setup if I stick a normie in front of each I doubt they could tell the difference. You open a web browser and check email in the same way. I would rather have someone migrate to BSD or Linux over Windows or Mac so in the end as long as they find something that works for them on Linux or BSD then they're better off than they would be otherwise.

@nerdtronics who knew kek, tbh its a time scale as to when new devices get support. use bsd is the lesson :jackdripper:
