Helena Blavatsky and Aleister Crowley both believed this and experimented with using summoning runes from the Lesser Key of Solomon and Ars Goetia to conjure up different types of craft and different types of beings. Keep in mind Jack Parsons one of the fathers of modern rocketry was a devotee of crowley, went to the desert with L. Ron Hubert and performed the babalon/alamantra working, which is supposed to open some portal, and then the Roswell crash happened shortly after. He called himself the antichrist as well. We split the atom, now nations of the decent are tread underfoot by total hegemonic domination of degenerate nations. "Power" is granted to nations who are willing to work with "them." The most startling example of even "benevolent" encounters is this family in Florida (I think the Bledsoes), who used to be pretty devout Christians when they started seeing lights and having alien encounters. Nothing seemingly evil or bad but it totally has changed their mindset and from I remember hearing they won't attend Church anymore seemingly completely falling away from it and this encounter seems to have totally shaken their worldview. Now they just focus on aliens and the attention they get from these encounters.

Treat it as a spiritual 2-way stop sign where oncoming traffic is going 55mph and you have very poor visibility. It's not that knowledge is evil, but that it's often a way to tempt people away from God. Some people feel personally attacked or extra curious at the thought of some knowledge being "bad", when the reality is more complicated. It's particularly bad in our present world where those in power are constantly hiding the truth or obscuring inconvenient information. Calling it "a thing you should avoid" is accurate, and calling it "evil" is as well. There is a certain value in knowing your enemy, but it's not worth risking your peace of mind or salvation over. That said, if one is sincerely curious, look for sources from the church that explain some of these concepts. There are writings from the desert fathers about demonic attacks against them and their own personal battles.

This is a 1 Corinthians 8 situation. I am capable of reading some on this, but I don't want to know more. I advise others to avoid it because I have personally seen people lead away from the faith due to an interest in the occult and the resulting demonic obsession. At the same time, there are ordained exorcists who are fully familiar with deep levels of understanding of this topic, so clearly it is not the intellectual knowledge of such a thing that corrupts a man. Much of my knowledge was actually accrued from my fedora years when I began searching for various religious and philosophical truths to fill the God shaped hole. Hence why I can know things and say "don't bother. Not worth your time" etc. I only brought up the concept of the knowledge not being fundamentally evil because exorcists exist. I found a lot of little snippets of things that required me to read up on basic things and concepts when I used to be more into conspiracy things. That community has a lot of people who are kind of in the new age gnostic weird space I think.
