@Autumn I'm only 34 and I was raised to walk on the outside. It actually goes further back than cars. When people threw their shit and piss out of their windows, you're more likely to get hit the closer you are to the middle of the road.Also, why parasols were so commonplace ;).But yeah, I definitely walk on outside still to this day.

I don't know when exactly they stopped teaching common sense & basic man stuff but I was absolutely taught this. It irritates me when I see people walking with their baby strollers in the street, dude on inside & the lady on the outside pushing the strolling, going with traffic. How dumb & trusting are you people? They always look at me like I'm the one walking the wrong direction. I have a bunch in my neighborhood. @Autumn I know this one too :) I didn't learn about it until my early 20's though when I very briefly dated a Secret Service agent. He was in Chicago for 6ish weeks around the 1996 Dem Nat Convention. Not sure if his tendency to walk on the street-side was from gentlemanliness or his protection training. . .but I'd like to think it was the former. :)

In France for ex, men go out of their ways to accelerate when women cross the streets when it's the woman's turn to cross it, push women when they're carrying heavy stuff while walking up staircases and literally slam the door in women's faces! If you haven't lived there at least 3 years and speak the language, it's impossible to realize how degraded this race is! it's advertised as romantic etc. I would use the word 'depraved' instead. @Autumn @BigSkyRider I'm sure there still are some pockets in the US that are nice to live in! Seems like Adam and his keeper are enjoying Texas for ex. My brother lives in the Philippines with his wife and absolutely LOVES it. they just had a big typhoon but people are laughing and building back not even 24h after the event. it's something else!
