@Moon I am currently in complete inability to sit down to listen to someone harp for hoursCollege completely killed this ability due to some fucking terrible courses and teachers. One teacher in particular, his class was so fucking terrible, he was completely doing the strict minimum. He would present a boring powerpoint that I could read in 15 mins instead, barely present how to use the damn thing, and then give very hard assignments that we had to figure out for a few weeks... But he wanted us to listen to his drivel. He prevented me to use the laptop to just entertain myself meanwhile and I just stormed out, I just couldn't take it anymore. What a load of shit and a waste of my fucking precious time

@coolboymew @Moon I remember I once had an electrodynamics professor that was too busy trying to be "cool" or just talking about his latest research to actually teach electrodynamics properly. This wasn't a first-year class where you're trying to ease 18-year-olds into university, it was a third-year class where the only physics majors that remained knew how to study and knew how to calculus. The material wasn't particularly difficult but it did need an eye for detail that a good professor would know how to emphasize.But instead about the third week into that semester I decided to just skip every class after he spent 10 minutes singing a lame self-written "nerdy" song on his acoustic guitar then dismissing the class but saying he'd stick around for questions on the material for the next 70 minutes. He had tenure so it'd be doubly useless to complain about the sheer waste of money.So I missed every quiz afterwards and only showed up for the midterm and the final. We could hand in assignments via physical dropbox so I did that and never picked up marked assignments. I taught myself basically everything in that class and freely tutored anyone in it who wanted help with assignments. It helped that I had already taught myself most of the material since I did some summer undergrad research on space physics in the previous months. Ended up acing the exams and all the assignments, got an A- that would have been an A+ if I ever showed up for the quizzes.

@latein @Moon I have been interested in the concept of house churches for a while where members of the congregation take turns hosting the service and pretty much everyone participates instead of spectating. There is a group around here, but they have no published phone number and do all of there organizing on Facebook
