       Some believe that the recent downfall of #tech companies is due to the lack of new, profitable ideas. I think it's because they're not actively finding those ideas: the pursuit of profitability in the current #monetization model of the internet - where data is more worthy than just money - prefers re-packaging existing concepts (ie. nothing is new, just looks different), which doesn't look compatible to #innovation. Still wondering how should we promote new, interesting tech developments...

       @a One of the biggest problems is hoarding of talent. The big companies hire many just to hold on to them, even if they don't have work for them. If they're with you, they can't be with your competitors essentially.

       @dook Not sure about that, methinks all the LeetCode and whiteboarding stuff is just prefering regurgitation of existing knowledge instead of creative thinking, so aren't they driving away potential real talent?
