@L_isaMarie that's why a lot of us are not on mastodon, misskey has way more features and is aesthetically very pleasing for those that prefer such an experience, and pleroma runs really fast and snappy if you're more function over form...

@cafkafk I think you may be on to something...The dev community seems to be very toxic... Anytime you see devs insisting their personal feelings are "COLD HARD FACTS" and the users dont matter... Its time to nope out

@L_isaMarie wait I missed a part of my message... I was gonna say that Eugen (the main dev of masto) is someone that divides the waters for a lot of users that feels like he is too authoritarian and corporate...

@cafkafk @L_isaMarie You can also just choose your own form for pleroma to take. You can even put cat ears on avatars if you really want it. Sure, it'll take some work. thedesk.top is probably a good starting point.

@L_isaMarie @cafkafk they try to make an twitter alternative. They try to build a community to their liking. Pleroma (Akkoma is a fairly new fork) was made with an offhands approach. Using up to 60000 chars in a poll with idk how many options and even pictures is something mastodon just cannot do because of hardcoded limits. It took mastodon a long time to increase the emoji size. Misskey is not my cup of tea but another way of trying to make a new social network, instead of offering an alternative to twitter. There is also a new Misskey fork trying to change some small issues with misskey called Foundkey.

@khaosgrille @cafkafk It occurs to me they could try this crazy idea... It might be too crazy...They could *gasp* poll the end-users and see what people want.I know I know, empowering the end-user is such an absurd idea... But what if... What if the devs actually accepted this thing called "user feedback"NAH lol, just kidding. Nobody wants to know what the users think! Free software is all about the devs, not the users! 🙄

I personally use #Soapbox, it’s a lovely experience IMHOYou may want to try reaching out to #GlitchSoc or #Hometown, they are likely more sensitive to their user’s needs and could be more receptive to calls to add quote post support
