AUP/TOS will be similar to Poasts in that you cant post dox, identifying or otherwise PII of anybody, no illegal shit etcthis may make a lot of people salty but realistically when you allow dox shit on your hardware you're asking for shit. im not looking to be kiwifarms2 and i will not allow dox shit on any hardware attached to me, our new platform or poast for any reason

@internetfreak yeah but the issue becomes when you start federating with larger instances like poast, your database will start to slow down quite a bit

@internetfreak if you arent following a lot of people you'll be fine but when you start introducing accounts like mine, you fetch everyone that i interact with and everyone who interacts with me

       >tfw you can buy a raspberry pi with more ram than what kurosawa.moe is running with right now

@graf Makes sense, the thought of running a large database off an SD card? Like an act of self harm!

@internetfreak @graf That's what Android does under the hood, actually. You just don't notice it because of the slow way you access your phone, and the specific app-loading paradigm at the heart of things. (Unless your phone doesn't have an SD card.)You can do some wacky things with Android storage, like set up an S3 bucket on your phone/SD card and target certain apps at it instead of AWS. But that's an off topic rabbit hole.

@PunishedD @graf I tend to keep my apps on the internal storage, i notice some bottle necking when insave files sometimes because i default content to the SD card. Was curious about the possibility of running an instance off a pi, id rather keep donating to poast instead. Less things for me to maintain tbh

@internetfreak @graf To be clear, I wasn't recommending running a DB on an SD card. Just saw the poast and it triggered an association in my brain, a bit of trivia from annoying dev projects in the past.

@keith there is no SSH access. this is a shared hosting environment. we give you the ability to manage through the console and adminFE

ahhh.. adminFE covers a lot but i would need ssh and sftp for certain things.

@keith we offer the ability to edit configs and upload, you aren't missing out on it. having ssh on a shared environment would be so locked down via jail there would be literally no purpose whatsoever. aside from it being a massive security risk, not even when we offer higher paid tier plans will we consider it for any reason

@blackoutsky @graf I thought it was a fork of Pleroma with added functionality? I've already added the PleromaFE frontend but there are bits missing that I can only assume come from the Soapbox backend.

@blackoutsky @graf Perhaps that's it. There are modals like the "user reactions" overlay that I don't get at all on my pleroma instance. That and there are no response counts visible on posts, among a few other things.
