Nobody should be surprised by this. They might not have cutting edge features like Adobe software has, but open source programs like Krita (my favorite) and GIMP at least respect the user. I don’t know if I would agree that there are better programs because practically nothing else has the general or RND investment that Adobe programs have. There just are hidden, not-obvious costs that the software imposes onto individuals and corporations. I know some people have trouble making open source software satisfy all the needs they have for professional contracts when they do freelance work. It’s a difficult problem to solve in the same way that getting people off mainstream social media is. There’s not really a clear, easy solution

Some of them are still not carried over to GNU/Linux space (like HDR), possibly due to the code being a mess to configure, or some other proprietary trouble (or both). There are some developers that are working on it, but it still needs more help.

@MischievousTomato @fluffy @LoliHat I don't know exactly what are the reasons, IIRC it has to do either with a law or with the fact the government uses Linux in most of their end users, but many manufacturers here have a decent selection of Linux laptops.I was just checking Dell's site now, and for a home user (not corporate laptops) I can get an Inspiron 3000, which is the most basic laptop they have, but I can also get stuff like the XPS 13, or even a "gamer" laptop like the Dell G15 with a RTX 3050 running Linux out of the box.
