I'm pretty certain that this SR800 has paid for itself already. Not only is roasting your own coffee quite a bit cheaper than buying roasted coffee, but you can roast to the level you like.

@ThorHammerfist where do you get your beans from? How much cheaper? Better? How much is it?

@jeremyspokeinclass I've been buying from U-Roast-Em since they're fellow Wisconsinites and have been good to me.Green beans can be easily had for between 1/3 to 1/2 the price of roasted coffee. You can save more by buying in bulk (I usually buy five pounds of each bean type I want) and buying beans on sale. You can get better beans this way. Since I like light roasted coffee and that not common with roasteries around here, I get a much better overall product.https://u-roast-em.com/

@ThorHammerfist How do you store the green beans? Do they keep fresh in the fridge? In the pantry? About how long before they need to be used? You've got my curiouisity piqued. I never considered roasting my own beans . . . @jeremyspokeinclass

@DaddyO @jeremyspokeinclass Green coffee beans can last a long time depending on how you store them.If you store them in an air tight container in a temperature controlled room (I keep mind in a basement room that stays about the same temperature all year) and don't expose them to light, green beans can last a year pretty easily. They don't even go bad after a year, they just begin to lose some of their flavor profile. They can still be roasted and consumed safely.

@DaddyO @jeremyspokeinclass I use a TIMEMORE Chestnut C2 MAX. It's a manual burr grinder. It has a wide adjustment range from fine to course, grinds consistently, and doesn't break the bank.

@jeff The brand is Fresh Roast. You can buy it everywhere from Amazon to Sweet Maria's Coffee.
