So I found this site that has some great information about Phonovision, a late-1920s format which recorded television onto vinyl records. They archived five records, from the 1927-1928 era.The website was made in 2013, and they chose Adobe Flash as the format to digitally archive the records in, so nothing can play it anymore.Just.... sigh

Bad technology and poor stewardship are making this era a black hole in human history. Yes, there's a ton of crap in all we create. And yes, we're probably preserving objectively more than at any other time. But we're also destroying more, too. Forgetting.Even crap has value, and It's impossible to know which things are worth throwing away. It's not our call. Ea-nasir just wanted some copper, and had no idea that his missive would be known and celebrated nearly 4000 years later. Even crap is important.
