@robflop That's funny because I have the complete opposite opinion. Being able to search by users, content, date, etc. is something I wish more search features had, or rather that it was this fast to add these filters. That's imo the only thing I would say I like about discord

@solidsanek@outerheaven.club The filters are great, it's just that the results for plain text search are trash. It forces unrelated results into your search just because your search term is close in spelling (or it'll even modify your search term just because it's a similar word, screwing your results). For example, I search "kei" (artist name) and all I get are results for "key". I don't want 10 pages of results about "key" - if there's no results for "kei" just don't show any results at all.

@robflop Ah, yeah, everytime I have to do plain text search it's an awful experience, I agree with you on that. That's actually why I try to only use filters as much as possible and hope I won't have to scroll through multiple pages

@RustyCrab @robflop @GNUxeava Windows search is a fucking mystery, I just can't understand how bad it is. Oh I found the folder I was looking for, double click to open, copy path... no, it's just some windows search bullshit and not the real path to that folder. Go back a step to open in new window AND IT PERFORMS THE ENTIRE SEARCH AGAIN!

@AnOminous @robflop @GNUxeava @Ashalam I'd advocate for them making it directly part of windows but I'm sure they'd fuck that up too. Also fancy seeing you here.

I definitely saw it there first. Probably in the software recommendations thread. Finally installed it after having had it with an attempt to search on Windows and instead getting a pile of wtf. I can't believe they haven't got this shit even barely functional in 30 years. It actually worked better in MS-DOS.

@AnOminous @robflop @GNUxeava @Ashalam yeah I've been using it since I think early 2017 or so and it changed my entire workflow. Every time people ask me where a file is I just tell them to install it and never ask that question again.Actually getting people into the habit seems like another matter though. Something about water and horses.
