@grantonthenet@social.linux.pizza Personally I would suggest not to start on this journey alone, but join an existing group like a team that works on the Linux kernel or a team from Freedesktop that works on Radeonhd or Nouveau drivers.I'm sure if you speak to someone over there and say you want to contribute they can probably teach you a lot of things to get started.

@fsf It definitely needs some sort of rating of how well something works.For example GTX9XX and + cards are listed as 'working with 3D acceleration' which is technically true but the performance is much worse than the nonfree driver.
