       AMD should go full nvidia and sell CPUs with soft locked cores so you can pay $100 or whatever to unlock more cores after purchase. Or subscription plan. $5/month/core.

       @anelki some years ago, the difference between a 470 and 480 or whatever was only the PCI ID and driver. Small tweak to the driver and you got an upgraded card. Though actually I think AMD did the same, too. Now the hardware is fused off, of course.
