       you know the twitter admins can read your dms too, rightand they do this automatically at scale to target ads to youas a fedi admin: i don't give half a shit what you dm to people and it takes actual effort to dig into the db and read them so. why would i bother

       like. at no point has any fedi software ever tried to pretend that DMs are end-to-end-encrypted. "admins can see what you do" should not be news, but yet it is, every time there's an influxif you need E2EE use Matrix
