       @Varscona Because it gets you things, like good jobs and access to people you DO want to know. You can try to motivate weird ass guys with doing the right thing and being charitable to those around them, but there are decidedly apparent benefits to being a likable, popular person that everyone WANTS to have around. Being likable is how you have someone say “yeah, we aren’t really looking but you should come work with us. Yeah, you’d love it, you’ll totally fit in” when their inbox has 4700 applications sitting in it
