@chudbere @LTJG_Pliskin So here the story as plain as i can make it. I was approached by their producer (DakkaDakka) and asked if i was interested in doing art for KC merch. I was, and u asked what they had in mind. I was told just to submut an udea that i had. I thought "okay, proof of concept" so i made the warski king card with the intent of doing one for ppp. Dakka liked the design but gavr me no feedback from KC. I messaged them both directly about the art and recieved rave reviews from warski on behalf of himself and ppp. Soon after Dakka asked me to draw a PPP as pancake boy image. I said i expect to be paid for this one and was told i would be. Submitted the design, andy and dakka loved it, no response from ppp. Kept asking about payment, but dakka stopped replying until he told me he wasnt sure if the merch was happening, ppp didnt wanna do it. Arranged a call with ppp and warski which took weeks. Finally got them on a call, we bullshit for a bit, i mention the theory that andy is gonna replace ppp with jesse, ppp is offput. We talk about business, Andy asures me i will be paid but they wanna give me a percentage of the sales when the merch launches. Says ppp is in charge of thr payments and setting up the merch store. Ppp says he has no idea how to do that and he doesnt know why hes in charge of paying me. Andy asks if i have any idea who should print their merch and i dont . I tell them they owe me around 100 for work if theyre not gonna give me a percentage. Never heard from either on of them after that call.

If they do ever move forward with the merch thing I would definitely insist on just a flat fee. Any 3rd party merch site they use like teespring or society6 is only going to give them a very small amount of each item sold, so a percentage to you would be like pennies on the dollar. And definitely communicate to their producer that they may not use the art you've sent them for anything in the future until you are paid $100 or whatever you determine the fee to be.
