I'm gonna be real people need to acknowledge there's no ethical way to benin a relationship with a nonhuman under current society, legal or not. Sex or not. Can we please be rational. The power dynamics at play are so horrifying. They can't be rectified on the individual level any more than child/adult shit.

@laura also please keep in mind that veganism is not accessible to most. I have ED issues that include moderate ARFID, and I have to eat what I'm able to, other people have money issues.

@laura if I remove chicken and some forms of beef from my diet it cuts out about 1/3 of the things I can eat. Maybe half. I already have trouble eating on a good day. It's 100% a reason, and there are people who have it worse than me with even more reason.

@tarperfume has more to do with the purchasing of the being. Plus that only talks about male dogs. That's not the only nonhuman out there, I'm mostly attracted to females and it's much harder to tell if they want sex. Heat is not consent.It's complex.Mind if I respond more in the morning? @laura @TheSomebodies Not in the UK it isn’t - you can get a 6 pack of sausages (which can feed two people, and make sandwiches for a lunch the next day) for a pound. And it’s the veganism part that annoys me. Because were I to buy a block of cheese (1:25), a cucumber (1:00), butter (1:25), eggs (let’s say 2:50 for a big pack), sausages (1:00-1:75), potatoes (1:00), rice (1:00) and tuna (3:50) that’s (healthy) meals for an entire week, for around 15 pounds, at a high estimate. Whereas were I to have to substitute these meals with non animal products, the majority would be unavailable to me, meaning I literally wouldn’t be able to eat.

@laura yeah see we have the opposite problem! Where most meat is either English or Scottish, but a lot of our vegetables come from warmer climates like Spain and Morocco
